Here's our Disneyland 7-Day Sample Itinerary
If your only Disney experience so far has been Walt Disney World in Florida, be prepared for a more intimate experience. Disneyland is different from WDW in lots of ways. Mainly, Disneyland is smaller. The parks are smaller (not a bad thing). Downtown Disney and the 3 resorts are all adjacent to the parks. What’s more, you can walk everywhere.
On top of that, there are only 2 theme parks - the original Disneyland (DL) and California Adventures (CA). Because of this, you don’t really need a full week at Disneyland. Honestly, you’d probably run out of stuff to do after about day 5.
At the same time, you could easily spend a week or more in Southern California (SoCal). Also, if you're traveling from the East Coast or Midwest, you want to make the most of your trip. So, to help you plan your Disneyland trip, here is a suggested 7-day Disneyland itinerary:
7-Day Disneyland Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive at your Disneyland resort
Day 2 - Visit the parks
Day 3 - Visit the parks
Day 4 - Day trip
Day 5 - Visit the parks
Day 6 - Day trip
Day 7 - Leave Disneyland
DISNEYLAND TIP: Since the entrances to DL and CA are LITERALLY right across from each other, Park Hopper tickets are the way to go. These tickets are especially helpful if one park gets really crowded. Is that happens, simply walk next door!
SoCal Day Trips
At the same time, it’s possible to plan a 7-day Disneyland trip by adding on some other SoCal attractions. Here are a few Day Trip suggestions:

We recommend giving yourself 3 to 4 days to thoroughly explore DL and CA. After that, pick a couple of days trips to fill out your 7-day trip.
