At the beginning of March, I spent 4 days at Universal Studios Orlando for a travel agent training program. While I was there, I got to ride lots of cool things at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Below are my 5 most favorite rides!
The Hulk Coaster
I'm a huge roller coaster fan. And as far as coasters go, this one is excellent.
Hands down, this is my favorite ride at Universal Studios Orlando.
DID YOU KNOW?
Universal Studios owns the Hulk and won't let Marvel/Disney make a stand-alone Hulk film. But they will Marvel/ Disney use the Hulk in ensemble films like the Avengers and other MCU Films.
Rip Ride Rocket Coaster
)I'm partial to roller coasters, so this is my second favorite ride at Universal Studios Orlando.
Although this is a seated coaster, when you leave the station you go straight up (see the 90 degree track in the photo - that's where you start). So you go up this huge hill flat on your back. Then you shoot down the other side and you're off to the races!
DID YOU KNOW?
The Universal Studios Express Pass lets Unlimited you skip all the lines, all day. When I rode this coaster, I only waited about twelve or thirteen minutes from the time I went through the entrance until I exited the ride.
If you stay at one of Universal's Premier or Preferred resorts, you get an Express Pass Unlimited included in the price of your stay! If you purchase an Express Pass separately, it costs close to $100. A free Express Pass is one really excellent reason to stay at one of these on-site resorts!
Harry Potter: Escape From Gringotts
Located in Diagon Alley in Universal Studios, this ride is also a coaster of sorts, but it's a totally indoors, 4-D experience. The ride itself is amazing, but the line alone is worth the time you spend waiting for the ride. The details in this place are amazing (that's true for all the Harry Potter attractions, restaurants, and shops).
Once you enter the iconic Gringott's Bank in Diagon Alley (the building with the dragon on top), you wind your way through the lobby of the goblin-run bank. After that, you go underground and pass several Gringott's vaults.
I won't spoil the rest of it, but this one of the coolest rides experiences ever, both the line and the ride!
The Amazing Spider-Man
I love superheroes and have since I was a kid. And Spider-Man has always been one of my faves. So it is really awesome for the Webslinger to have his very own ride at Universal's Island's of Adventure.
On this virtual coaster (kind of like Escape From Gringott's) you follow Spidey through the Big Apple as he fights a gang of bad guys.
This ride is a superhero fan's dream come true. So if you love comics, graphic novels, and superheroes, this is a must ride!
DID YOU KNOW?
Disney and Universal both have partial ownership over Marvel Comics characters. While Disney owns the film rights to the Avengers and many other characters (soon to be the X-Men family), Universal owns the theme park rights to many of these characters.
That's why there's a Spider-Man ride, a Captain American cafe, and people walking around in X-Men costumes!
The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon
I honestly didn't think I'd like this one, but I rode it because I could. Jimmy Fallon is such a funny guy, and this ride is loads of fun. In this 4-D experience, you and the rest of the audience race Jimmy through NYC. Super fun!
